Splash of the Caribbean with the help of our supporters have collected and distributed school supplies, laptops, batteries, solar lighting, and sports equipment to schools educating Haitian immigrants in the underprivileged neighborhoods of Moca, Guayacanes, Tanquesitos de Boca Chica, and Soco de San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. Over the years, we have donated similar supplies to schools, orphanages and youth nonprofits in Afghanistan, Puerto Rico, Rwanda, India, Costa Rica and Laos.
In 2017, Alyssa helped found La Isla Foundation, later renamed to Borinken Foundation to spearhead Hurricane Maria humanitarian aid and rebuilding projects throughout Puerto Rico. Splash of the Caribbean has participated in fundraisers for the Haiti earthquake humanitarian aid together with Casueltitas Caribbean Restaurant that used to be on Vine and Western in downtown Seattle, St. Judes Children’s Research through Seattle Soca, as well as Puget Sound area schools and non profits.
